To understand the heart of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, one must look to those who have walked our docks and graced our halls for decades. Past Seabelle Captain Ann Taintor is one of those essential keepers of our flame.
Ann’s legacy at the Club began in 1969 alongside her late husband, Past Commodore James Taintor. For over half a century, she has not only witnessed our history but has been instrumental in documenting it. A veteran of our editorial past, Ann was a key contributor to both the 25th and 50th Anniversary books, helping to craft the very foundations of our written record.
Today, Ann is dedicated to a monumental archival project: sorting and identifying the people and milestones captured in thousands of photographs from years past. As a bridge to our "pioneer" members, she works tirelessly to gather rare images and materials, ensuring that the faces of those who built this Club are recognized and remembered. Beyond the photographs, Ann is a preeminent expert on the origins of our traditions, and her own invaluable stories will be preserved as part of our permanent archive.
