KBYC TOP FEMALE AWARD Trophy - Highly varnished Optimist Centerboard with annual name plates.

The Opti Centerboard Trophy is presented annually to the outstanding top female sailor in the KBYC youth program. This award recognizes young women who demonstrate exceptional skill and leadership, serving as a motivator for the next generation of sailors to excel on the national stage.

The trophy is modeled after the legacy of Christina E. Hacker, who began sailing at age eight and was instrumental in re-organizing KBYC’s modern youth program starting in 1996. Christina was a true trailblazer, becoming the first KBYC sailor and the first female to represent the club in USODA (Optimist) and ISA High School regional and national regattas. Her pioneering efforts opened doors for all KBYC sailors, establishing a standard of excellence that continues to inspire the program today.
