Vickie Gaston, Past Club Secretary and Past Seabelle Captain, is the curator of our visual legacy. Building upon the foundations of our 25th and 50th Anniversary books, Vickie is currently standardizing the format for our upcoming 75th Anniversary issue. This image-rich design is an important milestone; for it will serve as the permanent template for the Club’s next grand publication: our Centennial in 2055.
To ensure our story is complete, Vickie is continuing the vital effort of gathering and digitizing every Key Cue since our inception. There are still some gaps to fill—so please check our 'Missing Years' chart. If you happen to have these copies, or any personal photos and documents you think should be preserved, we invite you to lend them to the committee for scanning.
As you exit this evening, please leave a note and your contact information in our Memory Books. For any questions or digital submissions, you can reach Vickie and our entire team at historian@kbyc.org.
And together, we will ensure our history is beautifully told and never forgotten.
Marta Clark: Preserving the Legacy of KBYC

The History Committee is pleased to welcome its newest member, Marta Clark, who has joined the team to help document and celebrate the rich heritage of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club.
While working in conjunction with Vickie Gaston on broader committee goals, Marta is independently spearheading several vital initiatives to modernize our historical records.
She is currently managing the acquisition of a new Commodore’s Bell to bring the club’s honors up to date, ensuring every Commodore through the current term is properly inscribed. Her extensive research has also culminated in a comprehensive historical roster—detailing every Commodore, Squadron, and Board of Director member since the club’s inception—this work is exhibited as a poster during our 71st Anniversary celebration. Additionally, Marta is personally leading the effort to recognize member milestone anniversaries by securing commemorative pins and certificates for those who have dedicated years of service to the club.
For more information, you can contact Marta, or any of the committee members at historian@kbyc.org.
